What is WebRTC?
WebRTC is the Real-time communication for the web, with WebRTC you can add real-time communication capabilities to your application that works on top of an open standard. It supports video, voice, and generic data to be sent between peers, allowing developers to build powerful voice- and video-communication solutions. The technology is available on all modern browsers as well as on native clients for all major platforms. The technologies behind WebRTC are implemented as an open web standard and available as regular JavaScript APIs in all major browsers. For native clients, like Android and iOS applications, a library is available that provides the same functionality. The WebRTC project is open-source and supported by Apple, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla, amongst others.
Talking about WebRTC, Grandsteam IP-PBX 6200 Series has this features that every users can enjoy the flexibility and easy to use application. Below are the two (2) steps configuration guide of WebRTC for Grandstream UCM6200 Series.
Web audio and video calls and conferencing can now be achieved through the UCM’s new WebRTC page. UCM Video Conferencing must be enabled by the administrator for the concerned extensions under the extensions level by following below steps:
1) Navigate to Value > Added Features > WebRTC and enable WebRTC support.
2) Select the extensions that would use WebRTC and enable WebRTC support on them under Features section.
The last part of setup process is to enable the web browser to access WebRTC server from the Internet, refer to the network administrator to obtain the dedicated public IP or a VPN connection configured to Grandstream UCM6200 Series IP-PBX.
Once done, you can access the WebRTC server using your extension number and password configured on the IP-PBX System.
